Confidential, Free Mental Health Support for Young People in Stoke-On-Trent

 

 

From the 1st of December 2022 SUS will be offering Instant Messaging 5 days per week – everyday apart from Saturdays and Mondays.

We will have more practitioners available during our online shifts to minimise queuing time for you to chat with us. 

Opening times 

Tuesday- (6pm-9pm) 

Wednesday- (5pm-8pm)

Thursday- (6pm-9pm)

Friday- (8pm-11pm) 

Sunday (8pm-11pm)

You can chat about ANYTHING that’s important to you as many times as you need.

Speak Up Space forms part of the Stay Well CYP Service which aims to improve the wellbeing of children and young people in Stoke-on-Trent through a range of innovative services provided by Changes YP in partnership with North Staffs Mind and the Dove Service

Stay Well CYP is commissioned by Stoke-on-Trent City Council and Stoke-on-Trent Clinical Commissioning Group and is available to children and young people up to the age of 18.

At Speak Up Space we recognise that everyone is different. We understand that many young people like to access support in different ways – including our instant messaging service and online resources.

 

You can talk to us about anything that’s important to you. We can listen, try to help you understand how you feel, find coping strategies and offer support. Check out our online resources that you can use to help you to get well and stay well. We’ve also added some guidance for parents.

Speak up Space is a confidential service for young people from Stoke-on-Trent up to the age of 18 years old.

Instant Messaging and Telephone Support can be accessed by

young people and parents served by Stoke-on-Trent City Council.

Speak Up Space offers easy access to a wide range of resources and support and is the go-to site for most of your well-being needs in Stoke-on-Trent. We understand that some young people may require different or additional support however, so check out some of the alternative services offered by Stay Well CYP:

Peer-support Groups  Connect with other young people who are ‘in the same boat’ – to share self-help tips, offer each other support, and learn to apply Changes 12 steps to manage mental distress.

Well-being Training Programmes   Attend one or more of our bite-sized training programmes – designed to promote more helpful thinking, healthier behaviour and to increase your coping skills.

1-2-1 Support  Find out how to speak to and receive support from a therapist or well-being practitioner.
